Cookie Policy

The short version: the site uses one cookie, and it remembers your answer to the question in the banner. We ask you about one other thing only - whether you are willing to be counted.

1. The cookie we use

It is a first-party cookie, set by the site itself. Its value is granted or denied - your answer and nothing else. It holds no identifier, is not used for tracking, is not read for any other purpose, and is not shared with third parties.

We do not ask consent for it, because it is strictly necessary: it is what keeps your choice, refusal included. Without it, the only way to know what you answered would be to ask you again on every page load.

2. What else we keep in your browser

Besides the cookie we use limited browser storage, also only for interface functions:

a note that the opening animation has already played, so it runs once per session;
a light or dark theme choice on an internal design page.

These are not cookies: they stay in your browser and are never sent with requests to the server. Like the cookie, they hold no identifier and are not used for tracking or advertising.

3. Analytics and your consent

The one thing we ask about is Vercel Web Analytics, a visit counter that tells us which pages are read and where visitors come from.

It sets no cookies and stores no identifier on your device. We still load it only after your explicit consent: the data is processed by a third party, and we think the choice should be yours. If you decline or ignore the banner, the counter does not load at all.

4. What we do not use

There are no advertising or tracking pixels, no embedded YouTube or Vimeo players, no external font requests, no reCAPTCHA, no chat widget, no booking tool and no embedded maps. Fonts and films are served from the website's own domain. The hackathon price calculator runs entirely in the browser and sends neither your settings nor the price to a server.

None of those things sets a cookie here, because none of them is present. Which is why the table above has one row in it.

5. How to change your choice

The Cookie settings link at the foot of every page reopens the choice, and you can change it at any time. Withdrawing consent applies going forward.

You can also delete the cookie and the stored values from your browser settings. We will then ask you again, and the opening animation and the theme setting return to their defaults.

6. If we add more tools

If we later add other analytics, marketing tools, advertising pixels or any non-essential technology for storing or accessing information on your device, we will update this policy and ask for consent before it is used.
